Casimiro admitted to Marca that he doesn’t understand the point of the windows, mentioning that when the best players are gone, “the team that represents a country is distorted”

He mentioned that he would like to see all the ‘star’ names in the qualifiers, a “historic” line-up as he said: “It would be great, wonderful, if the best selectable players were on the list: Gasol, Hernángomez, Ricky Rubio… And also Albert Oliver, Xavi Rabaseda, Oriol Paulí and Pablo Aguilar. We would be delighted, it would be a pride.”

Casimiro criticizes the call of EuroLeague players as well: “Why are Euroleague players invited and the NBA ones aren’t? You have to call all or no one. This doesn’t make sense. The NBA players are not being called, let’s see if the Euroleague players and the Eurocup ones will join. ”

The coach also brought up that the basketball product is not being sold correctly to the fans: “They are not stupid. They know that will be a Spanish team where the best players aren’t there”.

Implying that FIBA uses the same agenda as FIFA in regards to  the qualifiers, he concluded by saying: “Football and basketball can’t go hand in hand, they are in completely different directions”
