Danilo Gallinari is among the many superstars that will miss the EuroBasket following his thumb injury after a punch he threw on The Netherland’s Jito Kok during a friendly (the irony in this will never get old) game, almost a month ago.

The Italian forward has been to the USA to complete his rehabilitation that is progressing remarkably well. In fact, when asked by TMZ how his thumb is feeling last Thursday, “Gallo” replied: “Very good. Almost ready to play.”

Gallinari has been injury-prone throughout his career so this news is quite a relief for the LA Clippers fans. The 29-year-old player joined the Clippers following a three-team trade that also included the Atlanta Hawks apart from the Denver Nuggets.

In regards to the next season in L.A., Gallinari replied: “We’re about to win a championship”.

Gallinari averaged 18.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game last season with Denver.
