On Day 9 of the Pro A French League and the final game of the day, Antibes Sharks got an important 86-85 victory at home against Pau Orthez and improved its record to 4-5 while the visitors slipped to 5-4.
Even though in the second quarter the visitors went on an 11-24 run and increased their lead to nine points (38-47), the Sharks responded in the second half and went up ahead by seven points. The game, however, was decided in the final minutes with some shots and free-throws down the stretch. Tyler Harvey and Blue Tim combined for 43 points.
Over the weekend, Boris Diaw’s incredible game-winner led Levallois against Bourg, while Strasburg got a well-needed and tough 83-90 victory on the road against a hard-nosed Monaco squad.
ASVEL Villeurbanne (vs Dijon), Hyeres-Toulon (vs Le Mans), and Le Portel (vs Chalons-Reims) enjoyed great Saturday afternoons with easy wins at home improving their record. Finally, Gravelines-Dunkerque and Limoges defeated Nanterre and Boulazac respectively on the road.
