For about 25 minutes the Turkish League game between Fenerbahce and Buyukcekmece looked like quite the derby. In fact, the guests were up 50 – 51, in the mid of the third period.,

But that was the moment when the defending champs maximized their defensive efforts, making it 75 – 58 thanks to a 25 – 7 partial score. They finally defeated their opponents 89 – 68 to remain at the first place of the standings with a 20 – 2 record.

James Nunnally scored 18 points, playing once again as a point guard, something that coach Obradovic tried vs Brose Bamberg in light of getting short of backcourt options. Jan Vesely added 17 and 6 rebounds, Melih Mahmutoglu 15 and Anthony Bennett 10 plus 5 rebounds.

Jerry Johnson finished 17 points and 6 assists and Eric Buckner pitched in 14 points plus 7 rebounds for Buyukcekmece that is currently 13th in the table at 6 – 16.
