Mazzon has more than 25 years of coaching experience in proffessional basketball, 13 seasons as head coach in the Italian and Greek clubs and more recently NBA D-league and Chinese league experience He won Korac Cup and the Italian SuperCup, reached the Euroleague Top 16, as well as the ULEB Cup and Saporta Cup finals.
In the 1996-97 season, Mazzon won the Italian SuperCup and advanced to the Saporta Cup final with Glaxo Verona where they suffered a 64-78 loss against Real Madrid. Next season Glaxo Verona under him won the Korac Cup. One year later, his team reached the semifinal of the Korac Cup. In 2006 Aris Thessaloniki coached by Mazzon participated in the ULEB Cup final where they lost Dynamo Moscow with Dusan Ivkovic by 60-73.
From 2009 to 2013 Mazzon was sitting on the bench of Umana Reyer Venezia. In 2011 the team from Venice promoted to the Italian Serie A. He has also worked in the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2015-2016 season and more recently he was the head coach in the Chinese club Foshan Long Lions.
