During the All-Star Game, Pau Gasol talked to the Greek TV channel, OTE TV, and referred to Dimitris Diamantidis’ decision to retire at the end of the season.

More specifically, the Spanish star said: “Diamantidis was always a great player for his national team and one of the best players outside the NBA. He gave a lot to the game, especially in his country. Both him and Spanoulis are great players. I wish him all the best in his future endeavours and hope he will remain close to basketball and help it grow even more.”

The legendary Spanish player didn’t give a clear answer whether the 2016 Olympic Games will be his final appearance with the Spanish national team: “We will see. You can never say when you are going to stop playing. This can happen anytime and this is how I deal with things in basketball and my life. So, what I can say is that this will be my final appearance in the Olympic Games. And that’s a fact.”
