NBA is the priority for Goudelock

Despite the interest by Galatasaray, the player’s foremost priority is to find a contract in the NBA.

After wrapping up the compilation of its revamped frontline (with Nenad Kristc, Austin Daye, Alex Tyus and Deon Thompson), Galatasaray turned the focus of its attention into finding an experienced and qualitative guard, one who can provide leadership, produce buckets with ease and generally be the Turkish team’s spearhead on the offensive front.

A player who fits the aforementioned criteria of Galatasaray, is American shooting guard Andrew Goudelock.  The Eurocup champions have been in contact with the side of the 27-year old player, pursuing him in order to add him in their roster.

The thing is that right now, the player’s foremost priority is to find a contract in the NBA. Only after exhausting all possibilities of finding a contract in the best league of the planet, will he turn his attention overseas in order to examine his options in Euroleague and China, according to sources close to the talks.

Apart from the existing interest of Galatasaray, he has been linked with Barcelona that is undergoing some heavy reconstruction and change of basketball direction after the arrival of new head coach Giorgos Bartzokas.

Goudelock first made a quite the noise in Europe during the 2013/2014 season. In his first overseas venture, he won Eurocup season MVP and All-First team honors, reaching the competition’s Final with Unics Kazan.

His achievements opened the door of Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce, where Goudelock maximized the volume of his game in the highest level of European basketball. He won the “Alphonso Ford” award for being the top scorer of in Euroleague, while also making the All-Second team of the competition. But perhaps more importantly, he helped Fener make it to the Euroleague Final Four in the history of the club.
