The Spaniards are getting ready for their fourth chance in a row to beat USA in the Olympics and Juan Carlos Navarro believes that his teams has a good chance.
According to the Spanish news agency EFE, when Navarro was asked if Spain can win his answer was the following: “There have been other teams in this tournament which have been very close to beat them, so why not us? We have come here to try to win and if we play our cards right and we are ready, why not…”
After all Spain gave a real fight against USA in London and Beijing: “We were pretty close and this year we have more experience and more everything else, so why not”. Still in order for this to happen, the Spanish tactic must be quite clear against a team “which has wings”, as Navarro said: “When you give them the open court, they have wings and they can easily take the lead. It will be difficult to come back after trailing by a big different, but if we are there until the end, we can seize our chance”.
Nikola Mirotic added: “In this sport you can beat anyone. We are at a good moment with a lot of confidence and if we produce a complete game, if we defend well fpr forty minutes, we will have our chances”.
