The Gomelsky Cup, one of the most important pre-season Euroleague tournaments, starts tomorrow in Moscow and the hosts, CSKA Moscow, held its media day today.

The Euroleague champs are hosting Panathinaikos, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Unics Kazan in one final tune up before the start of the season. Of course CSKA Moscow has also to travel to China for pre-season games and the president of the team, Andrea Vatutin, explained in the press conference about the tournament why Jeff Ayres was added: “Joel Freeland has surgery in May and he is not ready yet. We assume that he will start training in December and probably return to action after the start of 2017. Kyle Hines will travel with the team to China, where doctors will work with him (ed.note: He has a hand injury). He will need more than a month in order to recover”.
