Patric Young is more than ready to make the most out of the upcoming season with Olympiacos, after being sidelined for months due to a torn ACL he suffered last November.

But on the back of his mind, lies the ambition to become an NBA player. “That’s my biggest goal man. To play in the NBA”, he said to Eurohoops. “I want to compete in the top league of the planet and among the best players. But that’s a long term plan. Right now, the focus of my attention is on Olympiacos. It’s all about how I can be better and help my team with all my power”

This long period of absence was obviously painful, literally or not, to the American center who still has some ground to cover in order to come back at full strength. “My team has helped me a lot during these months and we didn’t force anything. I am still not 100% ready but I work hard to this direction. My target is to leave everything behind and help my team. That’s the only thing I have in mind after spending such a difficult period. To be healthy and strong.”

In 2017 the Euroleague Final Four is coming back to Istanbul, the place where Young spent the 2014/2015 season, playing for Galatasaray. “I have the best of memories from Istanbul. I made lots of friends there and I had a good time. The only… negative thing, however was the traffic. In any way, I want to return to Istanbul with Olympiacos and play in the first Final Four of my career.”
