The final preseason test of Olympiacos couldn’t have gone better since the Reds played basketball that was equal dozes pretty and effective against a visibly tired Galatasaray to win 89 – 68.

While multiple players of the Greek champs helped their team make it 25 – 14 and 51 – 29 at halftime, it was Vassilis Spanoulis (17 points, 6 assists) who put his signature on Oly’s victory near the end.

When Austin Daye (18 points, 6 rebounds) and Sinan Guler (14 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds) kickstarted their team’s reaction towards a 24-8 partial score in the third quarter, the action of the Reds’ captain increased the lead to 20+ numbers.

Giorgos Printezis (14 points, 8 rebounds), Matt Lojeski (13 points, 4 assists), Khem Birch (10 points, 9 rebounds) and Nikola Milutinov (10 points) also scored in double digits for Olympiacos.

Apart from Daye and Guler, only Tibor Pleiss (9 points) made his opponents actually “feel” his presence on court. This was the fifth game of the “Cimbom” in seven days and coach Ataman’s players looked empty of energy in the majority of the match.
