In the duel between the VTB contenders who want to de-throne CSKA Moscow, Khimki Moscow Region prevailed with ease over Unics Kazan.

The final score was 87-80 as Khimki now has a 2-1 record and Unics was defeated for the first time this season in the VTB League (5-1). Nobel Bongou-Colo with 19 points was the top scorer of the winners, Jacob Pullen added 13 points off the bench and Alexey Shved scored 14 points in 15 minutes of action.

However the game was all about defense with Keith Langford and Quino Colom scoring 15 points each for the losing side. Khimki had the advantage from the first quarter, when it led by 11 points (27-16) and kept Unics to 10 points in the last period.

Before the game Keith Langford received the award of the VTB League October MVP as his team had a 5-0 record and he averaged 22.8 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.2 rebounds. Khimki’s newcomer Markel Brown made his debut, while the other new addition of team, Jeremy Evans was also present in the gym.
