Despite his feud with Evan Fournier, Vincent Collet is set to stay on the bench of the French national team, as “L’Equipe” reports.
The French coach is ready to extend his contract with the federation until 2019 and if everything goes well in the FIBA World Cup, then also for the 2020 Olympic Games. The announcement is expected to be made on Tuesday. The federation wants to keep a French coach on the bench and Collet is ready for the challenge of qualifying to the 2019 World Cup with a team which due to the new format of FIBA’s qualification games will not include NBA players and possibly not even Euroleague or Eurocup players.
