Mike Batiste is the new assistant player developement coach of the Brooklyn Nets, as he confirmed to Eurohoops. “I have signed with the Nets“, said the former player who is staying involved the game as a coach.

A fan favorite of Panathinaikos fans and an assistant coach for the Canton Charge of the NBA Development League until this season, Batiste will bring even more European flavor to the Nets. Batiste won three Euroleague championships, in 2007, 2009, and 2011 with Panathinaikos and eight Greek league titles with the Greens.

The official announcement is the only detail left as Batiste will be the seventh member of the Nets’ coaching staff, however the deal was completed earlier this month with assistant general manager Trajan Langdon, also a Euroleague veteran and longtime opponent of Batiste as a member of CSKA Moscow, being the man who help the completion of the deal. The news were first reported by Greek website SDNA.gr .
