Partizan comfortably advances to Serbian Cup semifinals

Hercegovac, a club from the smallest town to ever participate in the Serbian Cup, gave a good fight but couldn’t really threaten Partizan in the quarterfinals

The field is set for the Serbian Cup semifinals as Partizan Mozzart Bet expectedly joined Crvena Zvezda, Cacak 94 Quantox, and Vojvodina MTS in the tournament played in Nis.

Zeljko Obradovic‘s side struggled through the first quarter but kept improving with every passing minute and broke the Hercegovac resistance in the second half to record a comfortable  92-67 quarterfinal win.

Tristan Vukcevic led the scoring for Partizan with 15 points, but it was Balsa Koprivica who was the MVP with 13 points and 14 rebounds for a PIR of 27. Zach LeDay added 12 points, Frank Kaminsky, and Aleksa Avramovic had 11 each, while Uros Trifunovic contributed with 10 points for the winning side.

As for debutants in the competition, Hercegovac, the club from the smallest town to ever participate in the Serbian Cup, called Gajdobra, and which plays in the Serbian B League, Milos Dimic and Dragan Maric had 14 points each, while Marko Brekic added 10 points.

Previously, Vojvodina surprised an ABA League team, Mega MIS, and will now play against Partizan in the battle for the final. On the other side, Crvena Zvezda will face Cacak 94.
