Crvena Zvezda continues its winning streak in the ABA. Obradovic‘s team, which will play in Madrid on Thursday to try and secure the best possible position in the EuroLeague Play-In tournament, easily defeated Cluj-Napoca in the domestic league.
The Belgrade team has won five of its last six ABA games. On this occasion, it was Dobric (14 p.) and Jared Butler (14 p.) who led the victory against the Romanian team, thanks to a great first half.
With Tyson Carter and Butler scoring from beyond the arc, Crvena Zvezda started the game at Belgrade Arena with an extra gear. Cluj-Napoca struggled to defend the home team’s perimeter players before halftime (51-39).
With big men like Izundu and Bolomboy coming on in the third quarter, Crvena Zvezda secured a comfortable home win (86-76) and sits in the top 8 with an 18-5 record, behind Partizan and league leaders Dubai.
Dubai, now without Golemac on the bench and with the arrival of Sekulic until the end of the season, remains the leader of the top 8 after beating Buducnost. Mfiondu Kabengele (16 p.), and Dzanan Musa (15 p.) were the top scorers.
