Monaco, due to financial problems, was left without participation in the EuroLeague and then also in the EuroCup, since its place was taken by Bosna, after which the recent member of the elite and last season’s French champion was left without a spot even in French competitions.
Monaco did not manage to secure the guarantees required to play in the LNB league, it was banned from participating even in lower divisions, so the club’s management, as reported by Meridian Sport, turned towards the ABA League.
According to Meridian, Monaco asked Ostoja Mijailović, the president of the ABA League, to play in the Adriatic from next season, but they would first have to seek their luck in the ABA 2 League.
From Monaco, a letter was sent to the ABA League’s address requesting an urgent response, given that the start of the competition is approaching and there is growing uncertainty around Monaco. In the coming days a reaction is expected, and we will see whether we will watch Monaco in the ABA 2 League this season.
