Unicaja Malaga agreed with RETAbet Bilbao for the transfer of Axel Bouteille, both Spanish teams announced on Tuesday. His new contract is set to expire upon the conclusion of the 2021-22 season.
The 24-year-old French forward will only be eligible for ACB, not 7DAYS EuroCup as the transfer deadline of the European club competition has passed.
Various sides showed interest in Bouteille attracted by his impressive performances with Bilbao. He is averaging 17.7 points, 3.7 boards and 1.2 assists per contest through his first campaign in Spain.
His arrival follows the acquisition of Marko Simonovic. Malaga has already clinched for the EuroCup playoffs and holds an 11-10 W-L record in ACB.
