Unicaja has been working on extending Suarez and Diaz, though the new deals will have to be put on hold due to the coronavirus crisis.

Before the coronavirus pandemic crisis halted sports activity in Spain, Unicaja had been working for several weeks on the re-signing of Carlos Suarez and Alberto Diaz, but the official announcement of both agreements must wait, according to reports by La Opinion De Malaga. The club had also earlier decided to implement a pay cut to the first team after the suspension of the season.

Suarez’s contract ends this June, with a team option for next season. The club and the player’s side agreed weeks ago to continue working together for one more season, per the same report.

Diaz renewed with the Spanish club in the summer of 2017 for four seasons, and still has one more year on his contract, until June 2021, though his contribution to the club is valued and there is strong interest for a contract extension.
