The majority of Spanish ACB League players don’t want to play the remainder of the 2019-2020 Liga Endesa season.

In an anonymous survey among Spanish League players that was conducted by the Union of Spanish Professional Players (ABP) and its result were obtained by Eurohoops, 107 out of 50 voted against the resumption of the championship. The players that participated in the survey belong to the 12 teams that are eligible to participate in the tournament that the ACB has planned for the potential conclusion of the season.

The biggest percentage of negative answers arrived mostly from players of EuroLeague clubs. 16 out of 16 Barcelona players and all 16 of Baskonia players voted against the continuation of the championship while only two out of the 16 players of Real Madrid that joined the survey, voted “yes”. 14 players of Valencia participated in the survey and 11 of them said that they don’t want the season to start again.

In contrast, the players of Zaragoza and Morabanc Andorra favor the idea of having the 12-team tournament played. All 10 of Zaragoza players voted “yes” while 11 out of 12 Andorra players gave a positive answer as well.

The organization will have to make a final decision on whether the tournament will be held until May 31.
