Barcelona turned everything upside down in the second half to go past Baskonia.

Barcelona beat Baskonia 89 – 74 after a comeback from down 12 to grab its first win in the 2022-23 Spanish ACB League. The Blaugrana used a 19 – 0 run over five minutes through the end of the third and the beginning of the fourth period to establish a double-digit advantage and ultimately win comfortably down the stretch.

Alex Abrines was a key player during the third-quarter outburst of Barcelona, where he scored 10 out of his 13 points overall. Jan Vesely contributed 10 out of his team-high 15 points in the second half while grabbing five rebounds and Rokas Jokubaitis had 11 points plus four assists.

Deon Thompson scored 13 points and Steven Enoch dropped 12 points for Baskonia which fell apart after the break. After producing 23 and 28 points respectively in the first and second period to lead 39 – 51 at halftime, the Basque side scored just seven in the third quarter being unable to contain the hosts. Barca delivered 26 points and kept scoring without an answer to go up 80 – 60 with five minutes to play.

In the meantime, Real Madrid registered its fourth win in a row (SuperCup included) by beating Obradoiro.
