After 105 days away from the WiZink Center, Real Madrid played in front of its audience and beat Monbus Obradoiro 93-79. This is the 6th straight win for the ACB reigning champions between pre-season, Spanish SuperCopa, and the beginning of the ACB. They remain unbeaten in the 2022-23 season.

Once again, Dzanan Musa proved to be one of the purest European scorers, as he performed an offensive display of 22 points in less than 21 minutes on the court. A great contribution came from Vincent Poirier and Guerschon Yabusele, as the Frenchmen combined for 24 points.

The 16-year-old Hugo Gonzalez scored his first ACB points, shooting 1/1 from two and 2/2 at the free throw line.

Dragan Bender tried to keep his team alive, but his 19 points performance wasn’t enough for Moncho Fernández’s team. Thomas Scrubb added 13 points and 8 rebounds.

After a great display in EuroBasket 2022, Rudy Fernandez got injured during the Spanish SuperCopa final against Barcelona, and he will miss the rest of the October games. Therefore, he was sidelined against Obradoiro. Adam Hanga won’t be available for multiple weeks as well, after suffering an injury during EuroBasket 2022.

After imposing themselves in the Liga Endesa Regular Season opener against newly promoted Basquet Girona, Chus Mateo’s players went 2-0 in the standings, while Obradoiro is now 1-1. Real Madrid will now travel to Athens to face Panathinaikos on their 2022-23 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season debut, scheduled for 6th October at 20:00 CET.

On Saturday, three of the five Spanish teams that will begin play in the 2022-23 Basketball Champions League Regular Season got important victories. UCAM Murcia got the 64-81 away win against Casademont Zaragoza thanks to a spectacular scoring display by Thaddus McFadden (28 p.), while BAXI Manresa and Lenovo Tenerife respectively beat Coviran Granada (84-87) and Basquet Girona (76-67).
