Real Madrid couldn’t make any stops, made 22 turnovers, and suffered a heavy 96-72 loss to CB Breogan in Round 26 of the ACB League.

Talented German national team player Justus Hollatz led the winning side with 21 points and six assists, as Scott Bamforth and Toni Nakic followed him with 17 points each, and Ethan Happ added 12.

Former Breogan player Džanan Musa, who won the MVP of the ACB league in Lugo, led Real with 14 points, while Fabian Causeur added 13 and Gershon Yabusele 11. Gabriel Deck almost had a double-double with nine points and eight rebounds.

Night to forget for Real Madrid

Chus Mateo’s team couldn’t cope with Breogan from the very beginning. They scored just 12 points in the first quarter but showed signs of improvement in the second period after reducing the deficit from 27-14 to 39-34 before halftime.

When it seemed Real would turn the game around early in the third quarter, Breogan made a massive 20-2 run and grabbed a 62-43 lead. When in the first couple of minutes, the hosts lead went to 79-54, it was clear that the game was over.

Veljko Mrsic’s team had an outstanding offensive performance, shooting 11-22 from beyond the arch and 26-44 for two points. The key lies in the turnovers since Real got 22 and Breogan just seven.
