After surprising loss in Game 2, Barcelona players got their payback with a win over Unicaja in Malaga, to retake the lead in the ACB semifinal series

Barcelona bounced back from a surprising loss in Game 2 of the ACB semifinals with a convincing 90-79 victory over Unicaja in Malaga. With this win, Sarunas Jasikevicius’ team has regained the upper hand in the series, now leading 2-1 and reclaiming the crucial home-court advantage.

The Catalan team showcased a balanced offensive performance, as four players – Nikola Kalinic, Nico Laprovittola, Nikola Mirotic, and Thomas Satoransky – all contributed 12 points each. Additionally, Kyle Kuric and Alex Abrines chipped in with 10 points each.

On the other side, Unicaja struggled to find consistent offensive firepower, with three players reaching double figures. David Kravish led their scoring efforts with 13 points, followed by Kendrick Perry, who contributed 12a, and Tyson Carter, who added 11 in a losing effort.

After a closely contested first half, with Unicaja holding a slim 43-40 lead after 20 minutes, Barcelona seized control of the game in the third quarter, establishing a 66-60 advantage heading into the final 10 minutes. The hosts put up a strong fight throughout, keeping the game within reach until the closing minutes. However, Barcelona made a decisive 7-0 run in the final minutes to secure the victory and close out the match.

In the other best-of-five semifinal series, Real Madrid also reclaimed the lead with an 83-73 win in Joventut.
