Barcelona hands Real Madrid third consecutive loss, drops them to No. 2 in ACB standings

Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 85-79 in an exciting El Clasico match, marking Real Madrid‘s third consecutive loss and second in the league.

This defeat has caused Real Madrid to drop to second place in the standings with a record of 23-5, now trailing behind Unicaja. The top position shift at this season stage hasn’t occurred since 2014/15.

Barcelona quickly took control of the game, securing a 27-9 lead in the first period, which they extended to 38-17 by halftime. Although Real Madrid began to mount a comeback and narrowed the deficit, they ultimately fell short. Despite their efforts, Real Madrid couldn’t overturn the score, resulting in a victory for Palau Blaugrana.

Nicolas Laprovittola led the winning side with 25 points and five assists, while Ricky Rubio added 11 points, and Jan Vesely grabbed eight rebounds. Willy Hernangomez contributed 10 points and eight boards against his former team.

On the other side, Gabriel Deck had a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds, while Dzanan Musa also scored 14 points. Sergio Llull contributed 11 points.
