Trailing until the final second of the game, Baskonia secured a comeback win against Rio Breogan on Sunday.

Handing a 76-74 victory, Markus Howard hit a game-winning triple with 1.2 seconds remaining in the Round 29 contest of Spain’s Liga Endesa Regular Season.

Taking over the offense for the team coached by Dusko Ivanovic once more, the former Marquette standout ended up with 28 points behind 9/23 field goals. He put in eight points over the last ten minutes. Matt Costello registered an 18-point showing and Chima Moneke followed with 14 points.

Before focusing on the Play-Ins of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, Baskonia jumped to 16-13, one game outside the ACB Playoffs zone. Khalifa Diop and Jordan Theodore were sidelined. Dani Diez and Joseba Querejeta suited up but did not play.

Battling to avoid relegation from the top-tier division of Spain, the visitors were forced down to 8-21 despite jumping to an early double-digit advantage and leading until the last second. Youngster Juan Fernandez produced a team-high 13 points. Jordan Sakho had 11 points. Ben McLemore was unavailable in Fernando Buesa Arena.
