Real Madrid beat Unicaja Malaga 99 – 81 at home in Game 1 of the Spanish ACB League best-of-five semifinals.
Dzanan Musa led Real Madrid with a game-high 23 points on 6-9 triples. He set the tone early with 12 points on 4-4 3-pointers in the first quarter to push his team toward taking a 29 – 14 advantage after 10 minutes.
Real’s offense proved to be too much for Malaga. The Blancos went on to go up 51 – 31 at halftime and established a lead of 20 points or more for most of the remainder of the game.
Mario Hezonja scored 13 points, Andres Feliz added 11 points while Facu Campazzo had 10 points, seven assists and five steals for Real.
Melvin Ejim (13 points), Tyler Kalinoski (11 points) and Kim Tillie (10 points) scored in double figures for Malaga. Their team hosts Game 2 Friday (13/6).
