Real Madrid defeated Unicaja Malaga 90 – 75 in Game 2 of the Spanish ACB League semifinals to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series. Malaga hosts Game 3 Saturday (15/6).
Mario Hezonja scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds while Facu Campazzo dropped 18 points for Real Madrid. Sergio Llull contributed 15 points, including one of his classic buzzer-beating “mandarinas” at the end of the first quarter.
Kendrick Perry led Malaga with 16 points. After erasing a 19-point deficit (63-44) in the second half, his team came close 69 – 66 early in the fourth period.
Real Madrid proceeded to dominate the next minutes 16 – 5 to take a 85 – 71 lead with 1:33 remaining and ultimately get a comfortable win down the stretch.
