The game of the night in Liga Endesa was played in Gran Canaria.

The islanders and Unicaja faced off in a close duel from start to finish, reminiscent of a Basketball Champions League game.

After taking a lead in the opening minutes, Lakovic’s team fell to the talent of the Málaga team (72-81) after a blistering third quarter (15-34). Trailing 41-27, Ibon Navarro put pressure on his team in the locker room, and the game changed completely.

Balcerowski (17 p.) and Tillie (11 p.) led the comeback to silence the local team. Alberto Díaz (9 p.) and Webb (9 p.), who seem to have been with Unicaja for years, also played their part. From then on, they dominated completely to secure their second win in this ACB. Showing their best, finding that offensive rhythm so difficult to match on the continent, everyone contributed.

They came close in the final quarter, but the Lakovic’s team is 0-2 in the Spanish League. Labeyrie’s strong performance (16 p.) was something to mention, as he has become the offensive leader in a matter of days.

UCAM Murcia and La Laguna Tenerife got the easy win away. Sito Alonso’s team beat Bàsquet Girona (71-93), and Tenerife dominated Andorra (64-96).
