Things might be rolling in the Euroleague for Barça.
But it’s a different story in Liga Endesa.
The blaugrana lost its second game of the season in ACB after being defeated by Hiopos Lleida 86-91. Less than 48 hours after beating Valencia Basket, Peñarroya’s team couldn’t match Lleida’s energy and lost the game, and Jan Vesely, due to a leg injury.
Barça was never in control and entered the last two minutes behind on the scoreboard (82-86). Unlike against Valencia Basket last Friday, Kevin Punter did not shine and couldn’t give his team the first win of the season in the domestic league.
Toko Shengelia had his best game wearing the blaugrana jersey and finished with 20 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Kevin Punter (14 points), Willy Hernangómez, and Dario Brizuela (10 points each) joined him as Barça’s top scorers.
Caleb Agada (18 points) and James Batemon (14 points) were Hiopos Lleida’s best players, a team that has won its first two games of this season and was able to play at Palau Blaugrana feeling at home, thanks to the amazing support of its loyal fans.
