Ten-year NBA veteran Josh Richardson and Casademont Zaragoza mutually agree to terminate their contract after a brief one-month stint

A few weeks after arriving in late January on a ten-day trial with an option to extend, Josh Richardson has parted ways with Casademont Zaragoza. The separation was announced by the team on Friday, shortly before his replacement, Justin Wright-Foreman, was formally signed for the remainder of the 2025–26 season. A veteran of ten NBA seasons with 584 appearances, including 30 playoff games, Richardson reached a mutual agreement with the Spanish club to terminate their contractual relationship.

Signing on January 23, the Oklahoma native utilized overseas options for the first time in his professional career. During his brief stay, he averaged 9.6 points per contest across five appearances in the FIBA Europe Cup and Spain’s Liga Endesa. His most notable performance was a 22-point effort in a narrow loss to Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari, and he contributed 2.4 rebounds, 0.8 steals, 0.8 assists, and 0.4 blocks per game overall.

Before moving to Europe, Richardson played for the Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers, Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs, and New Orleans Pelicans. His second stint with the Heat was hampered by chronic injuries and a mid-season trade that led to him being waived by the Utah Jazz in early February. After nearly a year as a free agent, he joined Zaragoza.

Meanwhile, 28-year-old Wright-Foreman, a former Jazz player himself, arrives from a productive spell in Greece with Iraklis. This transition marks his first experience in Spain, adding to an extensive international career spanning France, Turkiye, Germany, China, and Canada.
