Real Madrid crushed Valencia to secure first place in the Liga Endesa, reminding everyone that they are the team to beat and preparing for the playoffs against Hapoel Tel Aviv in the best possible way

Valencia Basket may be having a historic season in terms of results and performance, but Real Madrid remains the best until proven otherwise.

Sergio Scariolo’s team convincingly defeated Valencia 82-96, a scoreline that speaks for itself.

Mario Hezonja (17 points and 7 rebounds in 23 minutes, as he didn’t need to play any longer) and Edy Tavares (18 points and 12 rebounds) practically did whatever they wanted, controlling the game at will.

Although the first half ended tied (41-45), Real Madrid shifted into high gear after the break to seal the victory as quickly as possible. In the blink of an eye, the visitors’ lead was already in double digits, despite Jean Montero’s best efforts (16 points, 4 rebounds, and 9 assists) to bring his team back into contention.

The arrival of the last quarter changed nothing and the team reached its maximum advantage, a 74-93 that sealed the game long before the final whistle.

In the other games of the day in Spain, Unicaja de Málaga grabbed an easy win against Hiopos Lleida, while UCAM Murcia had a much harder time to defeat La Laguna Tenerife, the other team that will represent Liga Endesa in the upcoming BCL Final Four in Badalona.

Another 2025-26 BCL team was victorious today: Dreamland Gran Canaria finally got a win after eight consecutive defeats to jump to a 8-20, just one win away from relegation.
