Following the defeat of Barcelona by Gran Canaria for the 27th round of the Spanish League, Giorgos Bartzokas was asked if he feels truly supported by the management of the club.

His reaction? “Every time I have to respond to something like this. It’s a lack of respect. I always have to answer these things. I’m here to talk about what happened in the game, anything tactical.”

“Please ask the executives who have come,” he added, meaning Nacho Rodriguez and Rodrigo de La Fuente.

On the reasons for his team’s loss, the Greek coach said, ” It was difficult to adjust with the lack of energy we had after playing on Thursday (a 76 – 71 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv for EuroLeague). We had to play better to win here. We made some adjustments near the end but were without many options to win. We have to continue working to improve, especially now that we have completed our obligations in Euroleague.”
