Real Madrid became the fourth semifinalist of the Spanish Copa Del Rey tournament by crushing Estudiantes 94 – 63.
Gustavo Ayon finished with 16 points and eight rebounds while Gabriel Deck also added 16 points. Anthony Randolph scored 14 and Jaycee Carroll 11 for Real.
Estudiantes only had Victor Arteaga (12 points) and Gian Clavell (10 points) in double figures.
The game was close only for 10 minutes. Real turned up the offensive while shutting down its opponents to dominate 21 – 7 and close halftime up 40 – 34. The same story played out in the third period with Real building a lead close to 30 (70 – 43) late in the quarter and basically calling an early “game over.”
The “Blancos” will face Joventut Badalona for a spot in the Final. Badalona advanced by beating Baskonia behind a historic output by Nicolas Laprovittola.
