Darius Johnson-Odom fell victim of an aggravated assault after trying to foil a thieving attempt on his girlfriend, in an incident that took place today at the center of Milan.
Two people attacked the American player and he was hurt badly enough that he had to be taken to Policlinoco di Milano hospital for medical care and examinations. More updates on his status will follow in the coming days, per the club’s announcement.
No further information was given on the incident. Johnson-Odom told Eurohoops that he is in great spirits despite the attack and confirmed that his kids and girlfriend are also fine although the latter is still shaken up following the whole ordeal.
