The first semifinal between ratiopharm Ulm and MHP Riesen ended in a draw at 71 points and now it all comes down to game 2 (Tuesday, 23/6) that will determine the first finalist of the German League for the Final Tournament of the 2019-20 season.

The last time a game in the league ended even traces back to 1975, when there was a draw in a playoff match between Gießen against Wolfenbüttel, in their second semifinal (78-78).

In this first draw for the league in 45 years, Marcos Knight paced MHP Riesen with a game-high, double-double performance of 24 points, 11 rebounds, while Derek Willis led Ulm with another double-double of 19 points, 14 rebounds.

Adding to the list of top performers, Riesen’s Nick Weiler-Babb posted 21 points and Ulm’s Patrick Heckermann exited the floor with 16 points.

Oldenburg faces ALBA Berlin on Monday in the second pair of the semifinals.
