Semaj Christon and Ulm delivered the upset on the road against Bayern Munich.

Semaj Christon put on a show with 27 points and 14 assists as Ratiopharm Ulm beat Bayern Munich 86 – 83 on the road in overtime for Day 1 of the 2021-22 German League season.

Christon also scored for the 86 – 83 with 12 seconds to play and after Justin Simon hit the go-ahead basket for the 84 – 83. Darrun Hilliard, Bayern’s top scorer with 26 points (along with seven boards), missed in back-to-back 3-point attempts to tie the game.

DeShaun Thomas added 20 points, including the mid-range shot that forced the overtime. Augustin Rubit added 18 points plus seven rebounds for Bayern. The Bavarian side was missing Vladimir Lucic, Corey Walden, Nihad Dedovic, Leon Radosevic and Othello Hunter.

Apart from Christon, Cristiano Felicio had 18 points and seven rebounds while Simon finished with 11 points.
