With Utah Jazz star center Rudy Gobert in attendance, Bayern Munich defeated Telekom Baskets 82 – 81 on the road to take a 2-0 lead in the German League semifinals.

The French big man went to the game to see his old friend from Cholet Michael Kessens but his former teammate didn’t manage to celebrate the win.

It was a free throw by Othello Hunter that ultimately decided the outcome. The veteran center was fouled with the score tied at 81 and three seconds to play, going 1-2 from the line. It was enough since on the other end, Javontae Hawkins’s winning attempt didn’t go in.

Hunter finished with seven points while Nick Weiler-Babb had 18 points and nine rebounds to lead Bayern overall. Andreas Obst scored 17 and DeShaun Thomas added 16 points.

Jeremy Morgan (17 points), Karsten Tadda (16 points), Hawkins (16 points) and Saulius Kulvietis (15 points) were Bonn’s top contributors.
