ALBA Berlin beat Ratiopharm Ulm 91 – 77 on the road in Game 2 of the German League quarterfinals to tie the best-of-five series at 1-1. The Albatrosses bounced back in style after losing 64 – 88 in Game 1.

Jaleen Smith led ALBA with 18 points on 4-6 3-pointers. Gabriele Procida and Luke Sikma dropped 14 points apiece while Luis Olinde provided 11 points and seven rebounds. Their team was down 47 – 39 at halftime but responded by dominating the third period 14-29 to take the lead.

Ulm made it 69 – 70 but ALBA had an 0-11 run and stayed in the driver’s seat for the remainder of the game.

Brandon Paul (20 points), Karim Jallow (16 points) and Yago dos Santos (11 points, nine assists) stood out from Ulm that couldn’t build on that Game 1 victory to get a 2-0 lead. Game 3 takes place at ALBA Friday (19/5).
