Bouncing back on the win column with a confident display after the break, FC Bayern Munich improves to a league-high 14-5 in Germany’s easyCredit Regular Season

After a slow start, FC Bayern Munich dominated the second half and prevailed, 94-72, over Niners Chemnitz on Sunday.

Fueling a win on the road and pushing his side to 14-5 in the easyCredit BBL Regular Season, 33-year-old forward Niels Giffey threw in 15 points, five rebounds, two steals, and two assists. Andreas Obst shared a game-high 18 points, including four triples. The second player with 18 points, Jacob Gilyard, was on the wrong end.

Besides Devin Booker and Oscar da Silva on the injury list due to knee injuries, Nick Weiler-Babb was rested, and former Niner Kevin Yebo was also left out of the lineup for the team coached by Gordon Herbert.

Earlier Sunday, MLP Academics Heidelberg overcame a 39-point display by Justin Jaworski to take down EWE Baskets Oldenburg, 95-79, and jump to 11-8 in the top-flight division of Germany.

Wrapping up Round 22 on Monday, ALBA Berlin hosts Bamberg Baskets, hoping to balance the domestic record at 10-10. Anton Gavel’s side is lower in the standings and carries an 8-11 W-L tally.
