Justinian Jessup dominated down the stretch and tucked in a go-ahead three-pointer with 19 seconds on the clock, pushing ratiopharm Ulm to a win, 81-79, versus FC Bayern Munich in SAP Garden.
The Boise State product scored the last ten points of the Sparrows to finish with a game-high 22 points behind 8/14 field goals, including five three-pointers on Saturday. NBA draft prospect Ben Saraf followed with 9/15 field goals and 20 points to go with four rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Isaiah Roby and Thomas Klepeisz remained on the injury list of the team guided by Ty Harrelson.
On the losing end, Niels Giffey recorded a team-high 16 points. With Oscar da Silva back in the lineup of head coach Gordon Herbert for the first time after right knee surgery in March, Onuralp Bitim did not suit up, joining Carsen Edwards and Elias Harris on the sidelines. However, the returning 26-year-old forward did not play, staying on the bench with Danko Brankovic.
Moving to Ulm, Game 4 presents Ulm with an opportunity for a second league championship in team history and is scheduled for Tuesday, one day before the NBA Draft presented by State Farm, which also concerns Noa Essengue, besides Saraf. Game 5, if necessary, will be played in Munich on Thursday.
