Bayern survived against Heidelberg to progress to the BBL Finals

Playing with fire as Heidelberg fought until the end and even forced overtime, Bayern Munich managed to have a 15-3 in extra regulation to find the 94-82 win in Game 4 of the BBL Semi-Finals.

Winning the series 3-1 against one of the surprises of the season in Germany, Gordon Herbert’s team clinched a spot in the BBL Finals, where they will play against either Wurzburg or Ulm.

Andreas Obst and Shabazz Napier each scored 19 points to keep Bayern on top. Vladimir Lucic stepped up as captain of the Bavarians with a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds.

On Heidelberg, the playmaker DJ Horne had a team-high 17 points. Michael Weathers had 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists; Ryan Mikesell finished his season with a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds.

In the other series in Germany, Wurzburg and ratiopharm Ulm are currently tied at 2-2, as the former team beat the orange side 78-77 in Game 4, in front of their people.

The 2006-born promising German center Hannes Steinbach (16 points and 7 rebounds) and Zac Seljaas (16 points and 6 rebounds) were crucial for the team’s win, keeping the team alive in the series. Karim Jallow had a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds in the loss.
