It wasn’t easy, but Pesic’s team got the job done against Vechta

In front of 4,900 fans at BMW Park, Bayern once again proved their championship pedigree, grinding out a dramatic 90–88 win over in-form Vechta. It marked Pesic’s side seventh consecutive victory, a game that felt like a true playoff preview.

Despite the home team’s win, it was Vechta who dictated the tempo early in the game. In a clash between the league’s top three-point shooting teams, the visitors came out firing, generating open looks and capitalizing with remarkable efficiency. They surged to a 19–11 lead midway through the first quarter and extended it to 28–18, hitting 8 of their first 11 shots from beyond the arc. Bayern initially struggled to contain the Rastas’ fluid ball movement and perimeter threat.

But the momentum slowly shifted. Led by the work rate of da Silva, Gabriel, and their teammates, Bayern tightened up defensively and forced Vechta into tougher possessions. The increased aggression, particularly on the offensive boards, drew fouls and allowed McCormack to narrow the gap to 39–35 late in the first half.

Offensively, Bayern found their leaders when it mattered most. Obst and Rathan-Mayes each delivered 20 points, while da Silva anchored the effort with a double-double (11 points, 10 rebounds), playing a crucial role on both ends of the floor.

The victory came less than 48 hours after Bayern’s 85–79 triumph over second-placed Berlin—who themselves fell 82–84 to Chemnitz on Sunday—further underlining the champions’ consistency and momentum as the postseason approaches.
