Stefan Jovic scored the crucial baskets to help Bayern Munich kickstarted the German League season with an 83-77 road win against Ratiopharm Ulm.

Gamesome Bayern had a 13-point lead (27-14, 46-33) twice during the first half already but Ulm managed to find a way both times and narrow the gap. Nonetheless, Bayern went to the locker room with a 46-38 advantage.

The second part of the game played out similarly. The guests went on ahead 58-46 during the third quarter but Ulm once again showed character and decreased the margin to just one point (73-72) with four minutes remaining. Bayern’s coach Dejan Radonjic called a timeout which resulted in four straight points from Stefan Jovic along with stellar defense which was enough to secure the game.

Jovic finished the game with 17 points in addition to Petteri Koponen’s game-high 18 points while Vladimir Lucic added 13. On the other side, Javonte Green and Katin Reinhardt scored 15 points each.
