“Serbs in Greece” honored

Ivkovic and Obradovic are honorary citizens of Piraeus and Athens respectively, after a special celebration organized under the shield of the president of Greek Democracy in Athens on Friday night

Athens had the chance to live on Friday a magical night. Τhe Serbian athletes and coaches who have left a deep mark in the success of Greek teams reunited to be honored at Megaron, through the program “Serbs in Greece”.

A ceremony which began as an idea of the Serbian Embassy in Athens, together with the long time Serbian correspondent in Greece, Zvonimir Simunec. Karolos Papoulias, the president of the Greek Democracy took the ceremony under his wings, together with Greece’s and Serbian’s business council. In total 29 people were honored via a film documentary, a special edition presenting their careers and a photo exhibition.

Dusan Ivkovic and Zelimir Obradovic were named honorary citizens of Piraeus and Athens (from the mayors of the two cities Mr. Vasilis Mihaloliakos and Mr. George Kaminis), while on the audience were personalities like Zarko Paspali, Predrag Djordevic, Dejan Bodiroga, Ilia Ivic, Dusan Osmanagic, Darko Kovasevic, Branko Stankovic, Nikola Stamenic, Zoran Gajic, Sava Grozdanovic, Toza Veselinovic, Stjepan Bobek, Dragan Tarlac, Dejan Tomasevic, Milan Tomic, Vlado Djurovic, and Predrag Stojakovic.

Even Vlade Divac was there to honor with his present the ceremony, while “Dejan Petrovic Big Band Orchestra” was responsible for the closing concert.
