One hour before midnight the strike was postponed. As the Spanish league (ACB) announced officially the players’ union (ABP) decided to take a step back and new negotiations between the two parties will start on Monday. It will be interesting to see the final deal between the two sides, as at this point there are no exact details about who is giving up what.

Still, it’s a given that a players’ strike during the play offs of any league could damage the sport and and the basketball product, so in the long term even the players themselves, specially in Europe where most teams are not turning a profit. On the contrary, the biggest clubs of the continent have owners that in reality are also their biggest sponsors.
