Joan Plaza finished his job with Zalgiris and now he can focus on Unicaja. Six players of the current roster will stay, two more are questionmarks right now and two will leave. Kuzminskas will come with Plaza in Malaga and the first targets are a power forward and a combo guard

It’s the end of the season for Zalgiris. They lost three games in a row in VTB’s semifinals against Lokomotiv Kuban and from now on Joan Plaza is free to sign with Unicaja Malaga. The Spanish coach stayed in Kaunas until the end of the season despite the huge financial problems faced by the Lithuanians, but the time for his comeback in Spain arrived.

Unicaja didn’t reach the Spanish playoffs for second year in row and the new coach has already prepared his plans for the next season. Six players of Unicaja will continue (Zoric, Dragic, Lima, Vazquez, Vidal and Urtasun), Kuzmic played at Joventut on loan and he will come back to Malaga and Kuzminskas is on his way from Kaunas to Spain alongside with coach Plaza.

Unicaja has the renewal option to Williams’ contract but he wants to leave and the situation with Calloway is still unclear. Perovic and Simon will leave the team and the first moves on the market will be a power forward and a combo guard.
