Not only Pini Gershon will be the new assistant coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv, but he has been already presented in a last minute press conference by the club. In an unextected turn of events Pini is back and that’s a wish of newly promoted head coach Guy Goodes.
At least that’s what Goodes said: “It was my own choice, I am happy he is back. We can do great things together. It was my idea and I am happy that the management made it happen”.
As for Pini, he clarified that if Goodes gets fired during the season, he will not replace him: “I am happy I am here again. For 15 years I build my reputation, mainly with this team. I will never accept to work in the place of an other coach, if the head coach is fired. If Guy goes, then I will also leave”.
