The burning question of where Thomas Heurtel will play in the upcoming season was answered by him in “Radio Vitoria”. The French guard confirmed that he will stay with the team for now and his possible movement to Turkey is not a matter of the present.
As Heurtel said: “I will stay this season in Vitoria. I never said that I don’t want to resign with the team. The season is very long, so we will see what will happen in the future”. However the situation is not that simple. As we have reported, his club would prefer to sell the player in order to get something in exchange and not lose him without getting anything back in the upcoming summer.
According to our sources, Anadolu Efes was the team which made a move in order to get the player and contrary to many rumors, Fenerbahce/ Ulker never made an offer. So, what remains to be seen is if any team will make a move to get the player after the regular season of Euroleague, when there will be an open window for him to change jerseys in the top European competition. Until then, Heurtel will have a pivotal role in Laboral Kutxa.
