For the second consecutive year, Vasilis Spanoulis is the dream of most Euroleague GMs in a strange turn of votes. Once again Spanoulis is the leader every one would want in their team, but Milos Teodosic is the favorite to get the MVP title

For the second consecutive year, Vasilis Spanoulis is the dream of most Euroleague GMs as it’s revealed in the second part of the survey. Last season we talked about some misfires, this time the situation has been improved, as it’s also evident in the first part of the survey and once again Spanoulis is the leader every one would want in their team. One other Greek icon, Dimitris Diamantidis, is considered the best on court mastermind and the best leader available behind only his old teammate V-Span.

Here are the three key questions

Add to that the fact that Spanoulis is the player that 33% of the teams would want to sign, if they had the chance to do so

And here things are starting to get strange, as Spanoulis is not a member of  the Best Five, which includes Milos Teodosic, Andrew Goudelock, Sonny Weems, a tie between Bjelica and Saric at “4” and also a tie between Marjanovic and Tomic at “5”. The fact that Taylor Rochestie didn’t get any vote at “1”, while at “4” someone voted Rudy Fernandez (!?) is at least puzzling.

Teodosic is also the favorite for the ΜVP title, while Dario Saric the obvious front runner for the rising star award

For the first time in recent years, Diamantidis is not among the top defenders of the league with the duo of Stephan Lasme and Kyle Hines sharing the title.

“Sir” Hines is also considered the “tough guy” of the league, even if the answers, like in the case of the best defender are many and various.

Andrew Goudelock makes an impressive entrance as the best American player of the league, leaving last season’s winner Sonny Weems second.

Real Madrid‘s stars Sergio Llull and Rudy Fernandez are the best in transition, as “El Chacho” is considered the best passer over Teodosic and Diamantidis, while he also shares with Rudy the reputation of the most spectacular players.

One more Real Madrid player, Jaycee Carroll, for the second straight year is considered the best pure shooter of the league.

While Boban Marjanovic is considered the player most likely to have a break out season, something that’s already happening.
